WEST HIGH SCHOOL PROFESSIONAL DRESS
2009-2010
Introduction
As you know, we have been discussing the implementation of a professional dress policy for the 2009-2010 school year for several months. At a meeting on May 6th, the School Board officially approved our proposal. As a result, students will be expected to arrive at school in August dressed within the professional dress guidelines.
Where can we get professional dress pieces?
We have contacted local vendors concerning our professional dress policy and they have agreed to carry extra inventory of the needed articles. The vendors that have agreed to work with us include Target at Downtown West, Kohl’s at West Town, Dollar World on Sutherland, Dollar General on Western, and WalMart at Gallaher View. Professional Dress pieces will, of course, be available at other locations but these vendors have specifically agreed to increase their inventory in order to accommodate you and your family.

We hope that as a result of our new professional dress standard, students will see that there is a way to dress for success. We feel that your child’s new educational environment and focused learning processes will enhance their overall success at West High School. We also feel that the policy will promote a sense of school pride by requiring students to wear shirts of West High school colors. The administration and staff at West High School have always held our students to the highest of standards and we expect that the professional dress policy will help students to take pride in their education as well as their school.
