WEST HIGH SCHOOL PROFESSIONAL DRESS GUIDELINES
2009-2010
Shirts
They must be collared or turtleneck. Acceptable styles include turtlenecks and short-sleeved, long-sleeved polo or oxford. Shirts may be any color but must be collard or turtleneck. If students choose to wear their shirts untucked, the shirt must lay at the hipbone and not below. Under no circumstances should midriff skin be visible.
Pants
Chino-type fabrics and corduroys in tan, navy or black and blue jeans are acceptable. Pants may not have holes/“distressed” look, chains, studs, decorative artwork, etc. Capri-length pants are acceptable in any of the above colors/materials. No knits, sweats, fleece, flannel or nylon athletic wear. Leggings may NOT be worn as pants. Leggings should only be worn underneath a knee-length garment. All pants must be worn at the waist and belted every day.

Shorts must be at least “
Skirts
Skirts may be blue jean denim, tan, navy, or black. They must fall at the knee or below.
Dresses
Dresses must fall at the knee or below and may be any color or blue jean denim. They must either be collared or have a collared shirt underneath.
Shoes
Limitations will follow the

These are permitted. They may not be “hoodies”. The collar of the shirt must be visible underneath**
**Please note: Students may keep these items in their locker, but may not wear them on campus**
The following will NOT be permitted in the hallways or classrooms:
- Hoodies of any color
- ANY head coverings including hats, bandanas, athletic headbands or skull caps (with the exception of religious head coverings only)
- Sunglasses
